As our existing economy spins out of control I think there will be a massive influx of individuals seeking details about surviving the breakdown in society. This is my attempt at getting proactive. I am joining forces with the IntelHub to make this take place. The Compound The compound will be a heavily defended waypoint situated in southern California. It will be a communication, planning center for individuals wanting to find out a lot more about sustainable freedom living. We will be quite active in the community. I envision it becoming a training and temporary supply center. Survival Outpost Locations These are land parcels situated out of key city areas exactly where many folks will be in a position to live with no the support of existing infrastructure. Mobility Coaching Units Individual youtube channels or web sites teaching Americans how to turn out to be mobile and living a freedom based life-style.

Living off the grid is something that has been going around in my mind for quite some time. The thing is, living off the grid should not: be expensive, available for all, not isolate people but uniting them. That is when I think it could actually work. The more we loosen our self from this crazy consumer society the better, but a community like you described is certainly not the way to do so.

What then are somne of your ideas? Are you vegetarian? I myself am a raw foodist, but before I went raw, I was a vegetaran for a while. I think that the meat undustry is abusive to animals, and that must certainly stop too. I would love to hear some of your ideas, maybe we can feed off of each other and start something.
@lusterwings – What is required is solutions that involves and considers all – it might see un-graspable at first, yet it is none the less vital – we require to realize that we are really in this mess all together and therefore we require solutions that is based on considerations of what is best for all, not only humans or one’s own family, but all life. Each can participate in making their 1 vote count and standing as an example, however we require to do that together as a group.
@annabrixthomsen Yeah, I think that’s the issue, is taking care of others the way we would take care of ourselves. What do you think someopne can do without much income? I keep thinking I should maybe contact a rep for the local community and tell them that I am frustrated that supermarkets still have plastic bags, and that’s just one issue. There seems to be so many, and I think first it starts with us and how we live our lives, then by what we teach others too. I like your video.
@lusterwings – The Solution is to consider All life equally – this is what has never before been done – a solution implemented based on a starting-point of what is in fact best for all. Each of us are equally responsible for the whole that is here and as such require to realign and re-educate ourselves to live in a way where we stand as that responsibility in support and care of all life. I think communities can make a difference by not only being sustainable, but by inviting people that aren’t interested in sustainable living to come out and learn their way of life. I agree with your video on many points. I just wish there were something people could do to change the world when there are people out there that don’t seem to care. I do think that using trash to build your home (like earthships) actually do help, because they are reusing tires, and other trash.

@ProjectEndure – Living off the grid through money gathered in the very system one oppose, does not make one any less Responsible for sorting out what is Here – In fact these communities are the very manifestation of Deliberate Abdication of Self-Responsibility. We have as Humans have clearly proved that “personal values” mean bullshit and can not be Trusted to act for what is Best for All.
With Standing as the Living Principle of Equality We Bring a New World to Life.
All humans follow the self-interest for what they personally value. If I want to change the world and help others, it’s because I VALUE helping others, not because I’m helping others. So even charity and aid are actually individuals following their peronsal self-interest. The good thing about these eco heavens, is that 1) they prove it can be done, that might encourage others to try it. 2) They are no longer supporting the exploitative system of taxes etc as much. i.e. not paying for wars.

@annabrixthomsen Most people are useless when it comes to things like an Equal money system, so I’m not going to rely on them to even consider such an idea . I’ll admit I like capitalism , but I hate exploitation of the people . I’d rather see everyone being equally rich(a real free market with an equal money system) instead of equally poor (communism or fascism). In the meantime it’s business as usual as the world moves toward one world government and people are none the wiser.

According to the track record , no. So when living in a world where people are creating a hell of their own making (From the very top , to the very bottom), I’ll look after myself first . Cool point – these self sustainable communities are another form of self interest where they are only looking for a solution to have a good life themselves while not caring about the rest of the word, as you said ‘drifting away’ from it all – what’s even worse is these type of communities are being ‘erased’ and taken down by the government here (silent massacres) So, as long as it is not the Totality that creates a change, as long as it’s only a few = it won’t work and stay the same Thanks anna

Good to hear about what you are doing out in your area, we have been doing something simular here in the Ozarks for a few years now. Just one thing Capitalism is not a sustainable way to live, just surviving is going to be the objective we need to unchain ourselves from the money slavery that has plagued mankind for far too long. I’ve been off television for the last 15 yrs for the same reasons. Talk to anyone who grew up on TV and it’s inconceivable for them to consider turning off their sets. If only they could realized how liberating it is. Suddenly, I found I had the time to do more gratifying things, regardless of what they are. Trust me, my lifestyle now is much more meaningful to me than knowing what the likes of Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Charlie Sheen are doing…
@nbm34 The networks have dumbed down what they claim is entertainment. Even the morning programs are a joke. Goodmorning American started at 7a.m. with the oscar story, then to charlie sheen. I don’t think they did any news story that first 30 minutes. 7a.m. used to be when you could wake up and get the news that happened over night. I got fed up and turned it off and haven’t had it on since then. thanks for your comment.

I went for a yr. without TV due to the fact I wasn’t going to pay for late charges on my cable bill that I didn’t owe (I won the case). I couldn’t believe when I had service back on how much things changed. The news is just fluff now and as far as entertainment it its a joke. I still can’t get back into a routine of watching any programs. The country is falling apart & jersey shore gets millions of viewers watching young people selfdestruct. When you get away from TV yours eyes start to open.
try living in Ohio. Its a dog. Heating bills close to $400 a month to heat 600sq ft.still keeping the thermastat down to 62. They have an emergency HEAP program if you have a shut off notice. when you go to get it you have to put your name on a list and then wait your turn to be interviewed. People are waiting out in the cold at 5:00a.m. in the morning to be first in line that day. The working poor don’t have the time to go through all the red tape to get the help.
